Liebe Studierende,
jedes Jahr müssen die Gremien der studentischen Selbstverwaltung neu gewählt werden. Das betrifft insbesondere das Studierendenparlament (StuPa), wo über die Verwendung der Beiträge der Studierendenschaft und alle grundlegenden politischen Fragen der Studierendenschaft entschieden wird. Bei besonderen Anlässen findet außerdem eine Urabstimmung statt, die allen Studierenden die Gelegenheit zum Abstimmen über eine bestimmte Frage gibt. Die Wahl des StuPa wie auch eine Urabstimmung werden dabei koordiniert vom Studentischen Wahlausschuss (StWA), der jedes Jahr neu bestimmt wird. Auch Fachschaftsratswahlen, die parallel zu den Wahlen des StuPa stattfinden, sollen möglichst involviert werden, insofern dies von den Fachschaftsvertreter*innen erwünscht ist.
Wir rufen alle Studierenden dazu auf, durch eine Mitgliedschaft im StWA Verantwortung für einen reibungslosen Wahlablauf zu übernehmen. Die nächste Wahl des Studierendenparlaments wird voraussichtlich im Juni 2023 stattfinden, wobei zeitgleich voraussichtlich eine Urabstimmung durchgeführt werden wird. In der unmittelbaren Vorbereitungszeit und während der Wahl inkl. Urabstimmung kommt ein Zeitaufwand von 5-10 Stunden pro Woche auf Euch zu. Es gibt daher eine Aufwandsentschädigung. Den Rest des Jahres hat der StWA meist erheblich weniger zu tun.
Was solltet Ihr mitbringen?
Für eine erfolgreiche Wahl sind Organisationskompetenzen wichtig, die eine ordnungsgemäße Durchführung der Wahl sicherstellen, darüber hinaus aber auch ein Selbstanspruch, möglichst viele Studierende für die Partizipation an der Wahl zu motivieren. In diesem Sinne ist über die Pflichten hinaus eine Beibehaltung einer aktiven Präsenz in den sozialen Medien und dem Vote-o-maten erwünscht. Wenn Ihr Interesse habt, im StWA mitzuarbeiten, schreibt uns bitte bis zum 16. Januar 2023 an praesidium@stupa.uni-potsdam.de. Eure Bewerbung sollte folgendes enthalten: Name, E-Mail-Adresse, Fakultät, an der ihr eingeschrieben seid, sowie eine kurze Stellungnahme, wieso ihr an der Wahl in den StWA interessiert seid. Mithilfe der Bewerbung nehmen die studentischen Fakultätsratsmitglieder binnen mind. eines Monats Nominierungen vor. Die Wahl des StWA wird somit planmäßig in der vorlesungsfreien Zeit des WiSe 22/23 stattfinden.

Dear students,
every year, the bodies of student self-administration have to be newly elected. This applies in particular to the Student Parliament (StuPa), where decisions are made on the use of student body contributions and all fundamental political issues of the student body. On special occasions, a ballot is also held, which gives all students the opportunity to vote on a specific issue. The election of the StuPa as well as the ballot are coordinated by the Student Election Committee (StWA), which is newly appointed every year. The student council elections, which take place parallel to the StuPa elections, should also be involved as far as possible, as far as this is desired by the student council representatives.
We call on all students to take responsibility for a smooth election process by becoming members of the StWA. The next Student Parliament election is expected to be held in June 2023, with a ballot likely to be held at the same time. In the immediate preparation period and during the election incl. ballot, you will need to spend 5-10 hours a week. There is therefore an expense allowance. During the rest of the year, the StWA usually has considerably less to do.
What should you bring with you?
For a successful election, organisational skills are important to ensure that the election is conducted properly, but also a self-demand to motivate as many students as possible to participate in the election. In this sense, beyond the duties, maintaining an active presence in social media and the Vote-o-maten is desirable. If you are interested in working in the StWA, please write back to us until January 16th 2023 to praesidium@stupa.uni-potsdam.de. Your application should contain the following: your name, your e-mail address, the faculty in which you are enrolled, and a short statement why you are interested in being elected into the StWA. With the help of the application, the student faculty council members will make nominations within at least one month. The election of the StWA will thus take place as scheduled during the lecture-free period of WiSe 22/23.
