Liebe Studierende,
das Studierendenparlament der Universität Potsdam sucht ein neues Mitglied für die Sozialfondskommission. Die Wahl wird voraussichtlich am 26. Januar 2024 stattfinden. Die Amtszeit geht regulär bis September bzw. kommissarisch weiter bis zur Wahl neuer studentischer Mitglieder. Um eine Bewerbung wird gebeten bis 05. Januar.
Die Sozialfondskommission entscheidet über Anträge auf Förderung aus dem Sozialfonds und die Befreiung vom Semesterticket aus sozialen Gründen. Diese Anträge werden von der Semesterticketsachbearbeitung des AStA vorbereitet und der Sozialfondskommission zur Entscheidung vorgelegt. Informationen zum Sozialfonds findet ihr auf der AStA-Webseite [1].
Eure Amtszeit beträgt zwei Semester und ihr erhaltet eine Aufwandsentschädigung, deren Höhe vom Studierendenparlament festgesetzt wird (zuletzt 30 Euro pro Sitzung der Sozialfondskommission und max. 210€ im Jahr).
Was solltet Ihr mitbringen?
Ihr solltet Interesse an sozialen Belangen der Studierenden und entsprechendes Verständnis für die Antragsstellenden mitbringen, welche sich häufig in finanziellen Notlagen befinden. Kenntnisse im Sozialrecht sind zudem gerne gesehen, aber nicht nötig. Es ist unbedingt erforderlich, dass ihr Zeit für Treffen der Sozialfondskommission habt, und, je nach Bedarf, mindestens jeden 2. Monat für ein Treffen zur Verfügung steht.

Dear students,
The Student Parliament of the University of Potsdam is looking for a candidate for the Social Fund Commission. The election is scheduled to take place on 26th January 2024. The term of office runs regularly until September or provisionally until the election of new student members. Applications are requested by January 5th.
The Social Fund Commission decides on applications for support from the Social Fund and exemption from the semester ticket for social reasons. These applications are prepared by the AStA’s semester ticket department and submitted to the Social Fund Commission for a decision. You can find information about the social fund on the AStA website [1].
Your term of office is two semesters and you receive an expense allowance, the amount of which is determined by the student parliament (most recently €30 per meeting of the Social Fund Commission and a maximum of €210 per year).
What should you bring with you?
You should be interested in the social needs of students and have a good understanding for the applicants, who are often in financial needs. Knowledge of social law is also welcome, but not necessary.
The Social Fund Commission meets approximately once a month,
It is absolutely necessary that you do have time for meetings of the Social Fund Committee, and depending on the workload can take part in meetings at least every second month.
